Bestseller Becca Fitzpatrick’s first trip outside the US for UK & Ireland autumn tour

31st August 2010, London—Simon and Schuster UK today announced the first UK tour for Becca Fitzpatrick, bestselling author of Hush, Hush, to launch her second teen novel, Crescendo.

Becca Fitzpatrick will make her first ever trip to the UK & Ireland – in fact her first trip outside the US – to promote Crescendo, the follow- up to Hush, Hush, in October this year.

The two-week tour will encompass Dublin, Birmingham, Manchester, Preston, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, and London, incorporating a mix of school events and public signings with both high street and independent retailers. Highlights include a Dark Days & Long Nights fan event in conjunction with Eason in Dublin, an appearance at the sell-out Eternal Twilight Convention in Birmingham, and a public signing at Waterstone’s Bluewater on Halloween… and, of course, an incredibly handsome fallen angel or two to entertain crowds along the way.

Hush, Hush, Becca’s debut, was first published in October 2009. The book became a NYT Bestseller, spent two weeks in the top ten UK children’s chart, and the UK editions have so far sold almost 140 thousand copies.

Crescendo, published on 14th October, picks up the story where Hush, Hush left off. Fallen angel, Patch, and Nora’s relationship is as turbulent as ever, and Nora is still trying to solve the mystery of her father’s murder, just as her own life is increasingly endangered. So ensues a heady battle between human and nephilim worlds.

Publication of Crescendo will be supported with a national outdoor marketing campaign. To extend the reach of the physical tour, and in response to the huge online buzz created around Hush, Hush, Simon and Schuster has set up a blog tour from 29th September right through to 15th October, whereby various bloggers with a passion for teen and YA novels will be hosting Q&As, teaser extracts and competitions in the run up to publication of Crescendo.
